Warmly invite you to be part of an exciting new music initiative dedicated to young and emerging musicians and singers in Belfast.
Every month, we host an Open Mic Evening and an audio/video recording session with a small, intimate audience for selected artists ready to take the next step in their musical journey. This is your chance to perform, record your work professionally, and connect with a supportive creative community.
All of this takes place in the beautiful and atmospheric 1G1 Black Studio, nestled in an old mill on Crumlin Road, where high wooden ceiling, warm lighting, and deep acoustics create the perfect backdrop for your music.

If you would like to take part in this event, please submit your details and your music using the form below.
If you not selected from the submission, you are still very welcome to join us and perform during the Open Mic session at the end of the event.
If you need any special setup for your instrument or equipment, please contact us when you arrive, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Whether you want to sharpen your live performance skills, build your portfolio with high-quality recordings, or simply share your voice with an engaged audience, we’d love to see you here.
Spaces are limited each month, so get in touch to secure your spot or learn more about how you can be involved in this vibrant new chapter for Belfast’s music scene.
Please use submission form below and send us your name, phone number, a short bio, and a link to your music on any online platform.
If you don’t have any of your work online, contact us, and we’ll let you know how to send your audio files.
We will get in touch if your music aligns with the project’s standards and vision. Please be patient, as we carefully review all submissions, and we will contact selected artists only. We are limited by time and space so we can contact you even a few months after you sent us your music.

Every month, we select two artists to perform at our intimate Open Mic Gig.
And after Busking Shark performance, If selected, you’ll get your own gig set, recorded in audio & video at our beautiful black studio in the old mill on Crumlin Road.
We prefer that you perform your own original music, even if you only have a few tracks. If you’d like to play cover songs, you’re welcome to join us for the jam session at the end of the event.
